Sometimes an artist or band doesn’t fully click with you until years later and I have quite a few examples. Maybe you didn’t pay much attention to them at the time, but over the years you started noticing the songwriting, vocals, musicianship, or lyrics in a completely different way.
What artist or band did you grow to appreciate more as you got older?
Gun's & Roses was one of them. My cousin George used to play Appetite back during the 80s and they did nothing for me. Once I hit my late teens I started to really like. Another band was Journey. I really got into Journey in my early 40s. Don't get me wrong I never disliked them and I was always a fan of Seperate Ways and Don't Stop Believing but I became a big much later and that was because of the song Edge of the Blade from the Frontiers album.
I think it's Lionel Richie for me. I didn't like his music when I was younger but I love it now.

I liked Lionel for as far back as I could remember. All Night Long will always be my favorite from him.
See I couldn’t get into his music then. I don’t know why I do. I think it was during my early thirties when I found myself liking his music. It’s weird how that happens as we age.

Our taste changes as we get older. It happens to all of us.
I got a long list of artists that I didn’t like back then but I do now. Sting, Billy Joel just to name a few.

Journey was the only one that I could remember but I’m sure there’s more
