Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80.
She had an incredible career that lasted for decades, and during the 80s she became an even bigger part of American pop culture. Between 9 to 5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, “Islands in the Stream” with Kenny Rogers, and her many television appearances, Dolly was everywhere.
She was a great songwriter, had a personality nobody could mistake for anyone else, and never seemed to take herself too seriously.
She also did a tremendous amount of charity work over the years, especially helping children through her Imagination Library.
RIP Dolly Parton.
