The 80s were the absolute golden era for movie soundtracks hands down. Sometimes a movie's album completely over shadowed the actual movie at the box office or in pop culture community. A couple that come to mind are the soundtracks for St. Elmo's Fire and Flashdance. I think the soundtracks for those two hold up significantly better than the actual movies themselves.
What do you think? Which 80s movie soundtrack do you still listen to from start to finish? Drop your picks below!
A soundtrack that was better than the actual film. I have to go with Streets of Fire. I didn’t like the movie but the song I Can Dream About You was on it and I love it.

I don’t remember the movie let alone the soundtrack. It’s been a real long time since I’ve seen that movie.
Valley girl with Nickolas Cage. Great soundtrack and better than the movie.
